Overview

ClipMind AI is a Chrome extension that helps users save webpages as AI Memory Cards. The extension is designed to be local-first: there is no ClipMind account, no cloud sync, no team workspace, and no ClipMind server database in the first release.

Information Processed

When you click Save with AI, ClipMind may process webpage metadata from the active tab:

Information Not Collected

ClipMind AI does not collect:

AI Provider Requests

If you configure an AI provider in Settings, ClipMind sends the saved page metadata to that provider only after you click Save with AI. Your API key is stored locally in your Chrome profile and is used only to make your requested AI analysis call.

If no API key is configured, ClipMind uses mock output so you can test the interface without sending metadata to an AI provider.

Local Storage

ClipMind stores recent saved pages and settings locally in Chrome storage. This may include AI title, source type, why saved, key insight, summary, tags, source URL, creation time, provider base URL, model name, and API key.

Data Sharing

ClipMind does not sell user data, run advertising profiles, or share saved pages with a ClipMind backend. The only external transmission in the first release is the user-initiated AI provider request described above.

Limited Use

ClipMind uses extension data only to provide the webpage saving and AI Memory Card features requested by the user. It is not used for advertising, creditworthiness, unrelated profiling, resale, or other unrelated purposes.

User Controls

Users can delete saved items from the extension settings. Removing the extension from Chrome also removes extension-local data controlled by Chrome.
